Home Street Home

I’m trying to enjoy as much of NYC as I can before I move. While I just moved back to the area last week; chances are that my stay will be short lived. Sometimes I feel bad for being born in NYC. The scale of everything else is just not the same. It takes more for me to appreciate a city, you know? Being that New York is a super megatropolis. If you haven’t been to NYC before, I highly recommend it. It’s exceptionally safe here now, comparatively speaking, and there’s no other place like it in the world.
In my quest to enjoy the city, I was wondering around the village and found this street vendor called, Calexico. You need to go there, its on the corner of Wooster and Prince streets and they’re open mondays through saturdays 11am to 4, or until they run out of food. Authentic Tex-Mex food from a street vendor in New York. Apparently the owner’s mom is from Calexico and they grew up with a thirst for home. Well, I’ll tell you one thing, their unique marinaded meats fit in well here in the city. The taste is big and there’s really no comparison. I’ve been to sit down restaurants and payed twice as much for a quesedilla, but I’ve never has one quite as good as Calexico. Next time you’re in the city check ‘em out. Peace.

That sounds yummy, Where is Calexico I wonder. Tex-Mex is the standardard fare here & I love it. I didn’t know New Yorkers like it.

I miss NYC in many ways. It is not the same here and I always feel safer there than in DC.
I’m happy to be living in the burbs of DC now as I like the outdoors as well and appreciate more after being in the city for 4 years.
I don’t know the vendor but I’m a vegetarian so I was stuck on a Canal Street spring roll vendor for awhile.

I have to agree. In all my travels there’s no place like it in the world!
