Beer + Haiku

Check out beer haiku daily.  It combines two of my other loves, beer and poetry, how great.

I love beer.

“Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.”
-Benjamin Franklin

I love beer.  But if you had to nail me down to a favorite, I’d be hard pressed.  I like yeungling.  I like Bud.  I like Belgian beers too.  I have found myself on several occasaions taking pictures of my beer before I drink it.  So to all the beer lovers, here’s to you, cheers.

p.s. the above picture is pretty old, I was still using film at the time, so I’d put this at about 2003 or so.  As you can see I was using a fisheye (you can see the case to your right).  I must really love beer, I rented a $1600 fisheye lens to take pictures of beer at the bar?  I’m crazy.

Did I say I love beer?

they put eggs on everything. . .

As you may already know, my new wife and I are honeymooning in Paris, France and its pretty awesome.  Whowever said that the food here is great was NOT lying, I just want to eat everything.  They have awesome sandwiches and breads, pannini and all that stuff.  I’m gonna have a nutella crepe today, I can’t wait.

But, one thing we noticed right away was dairy.  These cats over here do dairy real well.  There was a whole aisle in the supermarket  for yougurt.  Like a whole aisle!  It was crazy.  Also, they put eggs on everything; pizza, humburgers its crazy.  Check out the pics.  Also, breads and pastries of course are just perfect.  The desserts we had at the pizzeria were like on some gourmet level, it was dope.  Anyway, just wanted to give a quick update, I’m sure I’ll have more stories and pics when we get back.  Enjoy, PEACE.

who wants to be a consultant?

consultant-journal.jpg

I just resigned from my previous job. I had a great experience but I need to move on to greener pastures. I’ve been considering a few opportunities and browsing around the web brainstorming ideas. Fortunately, for me I stumbled unto Andrea’s Consulting Journal. Andrea’s website consultantjournal.com is a treasure trove of resources.

I’ve considered becoming a consultant before but never took it seriously. However, I’m working my way through What Color is Your Parachute right now, and I’m finding that I have a penchant for observing and studying various systems and mechanics, researching difficult questions, investigating, locating answers and then conveying and sharing that information with just about anyone who’ll listen. It’s hard for me to hold my tongue, and NOT ask a million questions. It’s difficult for me to hold on to information and keep it for myself; sharing knowledge is somewhat of a compulsion of mine. As a result I’ve always been told that I should look into consulting. Once I finish the book and reevaluate my career, I’ll pair my findings up against some of Andrea’s information and see if consulting is right for me.

Speaking of information, consultantjournal.com features a ‘becoming a consultant FAQ’ and several posts that explain the ins and outs of consulting fee schedules and interesting ways to market your skills to potential clients. Andrea even goes as far as to explain how to avoid search engine optimization and ‘work from home’ scams. Andrea’s pretty much got consulting covered.

So, check out Andrea’s blog, it might be a good idea if you’d like to become a consultant.
